Shopee Mall Now Offering 3x Money Back Guarantee

Great news for online shopaholics, at least for your peace of mind! Shopee Mall has updated their money back guarantee policy, promising up to 3x the price you paid should you choose to refund a counterfeit item. That’s actually big!

This new guarantee is a step taken by the E-commerce giant in order to boost customer confidence shopping in their platform. The brand hopes this would cut down on some of the counterfeits and scams that might’ve slipped through their nets.

After all, guaranteed authentic products are the main reason why people opt to go with Shopee Mall in the first place.

How will the new Money Back Guarantee work?

Right away, you should know that the guarantee only works for products bought from Shopee Mall. Basically, the red storefront, and not the usual orange one. It will also only apply to orders made starting April 25, 2024, provided the payment’s already made and the item’s already in the buyer’s hand.

To get your money back, you’ll need to submit a return and refund request within 15 days upon receiving your item. You’ll also have to provide all of the necessary details that proves the product is counterfeit such as:

• Photos showing your item is different from the original product

• A statement from the company/brand or IP owner confirming that the product isn’t authentic

• Any other evidence that provides the item is counterfeit

Buyers also need to make sure that the products return to the sellers or to Shopee’s warehouse in great condition, even if it’s counterfeit. This means the product needs to be:

• New/unused condition

• Complete, at least when it comes to items that come with accessories like phones and chargers

• Undamaged

• With all the necessary tags and labels still attached

After all, they do need to provide safeguards so that the system isn’t abused by malicious actors. A lot of these also just fall in line with Shopee’s Return Terms and Conditions, which you can brush up on here.

How will I get my refund?

From there, Shopee will review the request and notify the buyer within two working days from the submission of their claim. If they’re approved, the refund will be split into two payments back to you. The first payment reflects the actual price of the product and will be given back via the original payment option the buyer used. The second part should be given to you over ShopeePay.

So say you bought an item worth PHP 1000, as per Shopee’s own example on the site. The full PHP 1000 will be refunded to you via your original payment option. A few days later, you get a second payment of PHP 2000 that is sent to your ShopeePay account.

Nonetheless, Shopee does reserve the right to not disclose reasons for unsuccessful 100% authentic guarantee claims as well as reject claims made by fraudulent users or those who exhibit abusive or fraudulent behavior towards other buyers and sellers on the site.

Changes for sellers on the platform

According to Shopee, another reason for this update is the increase in sellers looking to apply for Shopee Mall. They have supposedly received over a thousand applications online since July 2023.

To help with sellers and IP owners, Shopee Mall is also rolling out the Brand Intellectual Property (IP) Portal. This should make it easy for them to help process IP infringement claims made on the platform, helping protect their IP from the glut of fraudulent products on the market.

Warranty

The date of purchase is considered as the first day of warranty period. Gadgets have life spans and naturally wear and tear over time. This also depends on your usage. All sales are final. Unit replacement due to change of color or product model indecision is not possible.

Basis for warranty

Please do not lose the warranty slip given to you upon purchase. No warranty slip, no warranty policy applies – this verifies that you bought the item with that specific serial number from us. No technical support is available for items bought outside of Kimstore. Refer to the warranty indicated in the item’s description on the website only. Kimstore does not reissue or keep your information from the warranty slip; it is the customer’s duty to store this form in a safe area.

For items past warranty period

Items past their warranty period can still be diagnosed and repaired if possible. The customer however shall shoulder expenses for parts, labor, and shipping.

Charges

To keep up with global economic challenges, Kimstore.com will be charging an additional Processing Fee on orders starting November 8, 2023. A small fee amounting to 2.5% of the entire order will be automatically computed and added at checkout. The fee will also reflect on your delivery receipt.

BANK TRANSFER/DEPOSIT

Returns and Replacements

When you receive your order, please take a video of your unboxing and make sure all items in your order are received and have no external defects. If Kimstore does not receive any report of external defect within twenty four (24 hours) from receipt of your item it means that you received it free from external defect. Documenting your receipt and unboxing can help in case of disputes with the courier or other problems with your order.
