Surprise Apple 'Let Loose' Launch Event Set for May 7th!

Is that a new iPad we smell? Well, no official confirmation yet but Apple has sent out invitations for their “Let Loose” hardware event this May 7th. It even comes with a teaser image that hints at a new Apple Pencil to go along with anything that may be announced in this event.

What kind of devices would Apple reveal for this coming event? They’ve already started the year with the Apple Vision Pro, followed by the new M3-equipped Macbook Airs. Well, speculation points at something we haven’t seen in a while: Tablets.

Apple iPad and iPad Pro Overhauls

Initial leaks and speculation have already pointed towards possible upgrades to Apple’s iPad Pro lineup this year, following the overhaul all the way back in 2021 that saw them come with Apple’s M1 processor. This time, they’re probably getting the new M3 chipset, promising bigger gains in performance and efficiency. Additionally, some leaks also pointed towards a new OLED display and maybe some changes to its front-facing camera.

In addition to the Pro, people have also speculated that a new iPad Air is coming out. Stock at Apple’s retail stores have been dwindling, according to a report from Mark Gurman at Bloomberg so this is probably a great time to release a new, upgraded version. There’s even talks of a larger 12.9-inch version in the works; a notable increase from the 5th generation 10.9-inch model.

New accessories to go along with this refresh may be in the works too. Talks of a new Apple Pencil as well as a redesigned Magic Keyboard also circulate, promising an even more durable build and a larger trackpad for all your productivity needs.

Longest wait for an iPad ever?
